The FCC or the Federal Communications Commission is an independent agency of the United States Government, it was created in order to regulate interstate communications by Radio, TV, Wire, Satellite, and Cable in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories. Broadcast Radio and TV are subject to indecency laws.
Indecent material can not be aired during the 6:00AM-10:00PM window. The FCC can fine TV stations and radio stations if they air indecent material outside the watershed. Indecent material can be nudity, strong language, explicit sexual activities. The watershed begins at 10:00PM and it ends at 6:00AM, the watershed allows TV broadcast channels and radio stations to air content the would normally not be allow.
When a broadcast network and radio network airs indecent content it can be fined by the FCC. If the FCC gets a certain amount of complents they will investgate if that content violated infecency laws.
