The Blue Ribbon campaign in promotes free speech online in the United States, although it extended to the general Web. Its main focus was around the Communications Decency Act of 1996, including a "Black World Wide Web" protest in 1996 which major websites such as Yahoo participated in. This Wikia's logo is a blue ribbon in recognition of this effort.
